brachiopod
brachiopod (n.) "bivalve mollusk," 1836, Modern Latin, from Gk. brakhion "arm" (see BRACHIO- (Cf. brachio-)) + pous "foot" (see FOOT (Cf. foot)). They have long spiral "arms" on either side of their mouths.
