assimilationist (n.) "one who advocates racial or ethnic integration," 1900, in reference to possible U.S. attitudes toward Hawaii and possessions obtained in the war against Spain; usually with reference to Jews in European nations; see ASSIMILATION (Cf. assimilation) + -IST (Cf. -ist).
