parapraxis (n.) "faulty action, blunder," 1904, from Modern Latin, from para- "contrary" (see PARA- (Cf. para-)) + Gk. praxis "a doing, transaction, business," from stem of prattein "to do." In psychology, a minor error held to reveal a subconscious motive.
