misdo
misdo (v.) O.E. misdon, "to do evil or wrong, transgress, err," common Germanic compound (Cf. O.Fris. misdua, M.Du. misdoen, O.H.G. missituon, Ger. misstun); see MIS- (Cf. mis-) (1) + DO (Cf. do) (v.). Meaning "to do (work, etc.) improperly" is from 1840. Related: Misdone; misdoing.
