reflux
reflux (n.) early 15c., "a flowing back (of the sea, etc.)," from M.L. refluxus, from L. re- "back, again" (see RE- (Cf. re-)) + fluxus "a flowing" (see FLUX (Cf. flux)). Digestive sense is recorded from 1937.
