procrastination (n.) 1540s, from L. procrastinationem "a putting off," noun of action from pp. stem of procrastinare "put off till tomorrow," from pro- "forward" (see PRO- (Cf. pro-)) + crastinus "belonging to tomorrow," from cras "tomorrow," of unknown origin.
