jollification
jollification (n.) "merrymaking," 1809, American English, from JOLLY (Cf. jolly) + -FICATION (Cf. -fication). Shortened form jolly led to phrase get (one's) jollies "have fun" (1957). Jollify (v.) is a back formation recorded from 1824. Related: Jollified; jollifying.
