eudaemonic (adj.) "producing happiness," 1865, from Gk. eudaimonikos "conducive to happiness," from eudaimonia "happiness," from eu (see EU- (Cf. eu-)) + daimon "guardian, genius" (see DAIMON (Cf. daimon)). Related: Eudaimonia; eudemonia.
