insipient
insipient (adj.) "foolish," mid-15c., from L. insipientem (nom. insipiens) "unwise, foolish," from in- "not" (see IN- (Cf. in-) (1)) + sapientem (see SAPIENT (Cf. sapient)). "Now mostly, or wholly, disused to avoid confusion with incipient" [OED].
