eftsoons
eftsoons obsolete or archaic way of saying "soon afterward," from O.E. eftsona "a second time, repeatedly, soon after, again," from eft "afterward, again, a second time" (from P.Gmc. *aftiz, from PIE root *apo- "off, away;" see APO (Cf. apo)-) + sona "immediately" (see SOON (Cf. soon)). Not in living use since 17c.
